Molded by their hometown of San Bernardino, CA, Jon's passion for writing spawned from their love of television and wanting to see more stories that reflected the queer Black experience. After accumulating a diverse and extensive body of work in higher education and journalism, they began studying the art of television writing by joining programs like Hillman Grad Mentoring Network, Flappers Six Week to Sitcom course and the Roadmap Writers Program. They are a 2021 Disruptor and a WGA Writers’ Access Support Staff Training Program Fellow. Their past work includes interning for Chernin Entertainment and serving as an Executive Assistant to Colman Domingo for Edith Productions. Recently they won “best drama” and “best script” at the Crown International Film Festival and have placed as a semi-finalist in the Sci-Fi Screencraft Competition and Outfest Screenwriters Lab. Their scripts have ranked in the top 4% on Coverfly and have appeared on the Redlist.
